We have been very busy leaving Cambodia and heading over to Thailand. So busy we haven't even posted all our temple photos from Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples, so here they are. Congrats if you have the patience to look at them all :)
Bayon (click the link for the history)
A temple complex with thousands of carved faces.
The temple was quite complete so we could explore galleries below the main structure
It was actually very busy when we visited, we just took photos carefully.
I love this photo Michelle took
Next to Bayon was another temple that had an impressive entrance walk way and some very steep steps.
The views from the top were great,.
Angkor Wat (click the link for history)
it is very hard to see the scale of this temple but if you look at the photo below you can see some tiny dots of people half way up on the 2nd level
Again scale is difficult but this is the path from the central gate to the central temple entrance. It is a long hot walk
A ruined library were the wisdom of the ancient Khemar was stored and then lost
Steep steps are all over Angkor Wat
View from the top over the lower terraces and tree tops
The very tip of the temple
View from the top looking out to the main gate in the outer wall
We liked this temple and wish our pictures could better explain the scale of this massive structure.
